Maama’s Centre was created in memory of a remarkable woman whose kindness and generosity touched many lives. Today, the center serves as a beacon of hope for young people and women in Bugabo Village, offering skills training, employment opportunities, and cultural preservation.
Maama’s Centre is a hub for education, skills training, and entrepreneurship. It provides young people and women with the tools to build a better future while fostering cultural heritage and self-sufficiency.
Through hands-on training, business education, and cultural programs, we strive to uplift individuals and families, breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering long-term community resilience.
Our vision is to create a vibrant space where young people and women learn, grow, and thrive. By combining sustainability with skill development, we aim to drive lasting change in Bugabo and beyond.
Maama was a pillar of kindness, generosity, and resilience. She welcomed everyone with open arms, ensuring no one went hungry and always finding ways to uplift those in need. Maama’s Centre carries forward her vision—empowering youth, women, and the community through skills training, cultural preservation, and economic opportunities.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
— Nelson Mandela
Help us build a brighter future for young people and women in Uganda.
At Maama’s Centre, we believe that opportunity changes everything. In Uganda, young people and women often face limited access to education, employment, and financial independence—but we are here to change that.
Through hands-on skills training, entrepreneurship programs, and cultural experiences, we don’t just teach skills—we ignite potential, create livelihoods, and build a thriving community. Whether it's a young woman mastering sewing, a local artisan selling handmade crafts, or a group learning the art of Ugandan cuisine, every initiative at Maama’s Centre is designed to uplift, empower, and sustain.
We are more than just a training center. We are a movement—a space where young people break cycles of poverty, women become financially independent, and cultural heritage is not just preserved, but celebrated.
This is where transformation begins.
This initiative teaches young women valuable sewing skills, enabling them to create clothing, accessories, and home décor. Beyond learning a craft, they gain economic independence, confidence, and the ability to support their families.
